Innovation Awards
To recognise and award deserving and promising start-up companies that demonstrate exceptional innovation and excellence in their products and services, as well as displaying resilience and potential in pursuing their entrepreneurial objectives, the TechVenture Asiasons Innovation Awards 2011 serves to:
- Raise visibility and buzz for both the Summit and the winning companies Recognise the winning companies' employees and leaders for their efforts in pursuing innovation
- Help winning companies to gain the trust and confidence of potential investors/partners
- Provide focused opportunities for investors and promising start-ups to connect for mutual benefits
- Jumpstart award winners' profile in their respective industries and across industries regionally Incentives
- All award winners will receive an elegant and prestigious trophy each from the Guest-of-Honour at the Techventure 2011 Gala Dinner in a special Awards Ceremony.
- The winners will be mentored by a panel of internationally acclaimed investors, innovators and (including Asiasons' Mr. Jared Lim, Facebook co-founder Mr Eduardo Saverin, and Brandtology founder Dr Eddie Chau)
- All winners will enjoy publicity and visibility in interviews and reports by the event's official publications and media partners.
Award Categories
A total of 5 awards will be given out at the TechVenture 2011 Gala Dinner:
1. Most Disruptive Innovation
Does the start-up convey clearly a unique and disruptive business idea or technology, demonstrating vision through evidence of a well-researched and a well-articulated innovation, with clear and reasonable forecasts of potential business performance? Is it a 'game changer' that will make current competitors obsolete?
2. Best of Show (Blue Ribbon Award)
Does the start-up's booth or exhibits capture the interest of visitors, and offer an overall theme and display that effectively attracts and informs visitors of its business idea or technology? Are booth personnel passionate about what they have to offer? they knowledgeable about their product/service and industry?
3. Most Eco-Friendly Start-Up
Does the start-up employ environmentally sustainable policies and practices in the workplace? Do its products or services contribute positively to a greener environment? Does its business plan articulate this clearly?
4. Coolest Innovation
Does the start-up's business idea or technology fulfill a market need or gap by employing a unique technology, concept or design that would potentially 'wow' the marketplace?
5. Rising Star Innovator
Does the entrepreneur or founder demonstrate strategic vision and foresight? Is he or she a strong leader with charisma, team-building skills, and demonstrable potential and personality capable of building a corporate culture conducive to innovation? his business skyrocket and fly by the same time next year? Will he be the next billionaire?
In the event of a tie in any category, the panel of judges will vote on the final winner. The candidates will be judged by a panel of 5 prominent innovators and entrepreneurs and the selection and shortlisting of winners to start beginning of the third week of September 2011.
Points to note
- The award winners to be finalised one week before the presentation ceremony on 13th October 2011.
- Winners will be informed several days before the event for confirmation of their attendance and/or purchase of tables at gala dinner and Awards presentation.
- The TECHVENTURE Asiasons Innovation Awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Summit gala dinner.
- A half-hour slot is allocated to the awards ceremony.
- Winners will be given up to 2 minutes each for their 'thank you' speech.
- Winners to be interviewed by official Media Partners and other invited media after the awards ceremony on site or on a pre-arranged date. Video interviews may be arranged as well.
